Un nouveau minéral découvert en Hongrie!

Rudabanya, le 4 Mars (MTI) - Un nouveau minéral, découvert par un amateur à Rudabanya, dans le nord-Hongrie, a été reconnu officiellement comme un nouveau type de minéral par l'Association Internationale de minéralogie (IMA) nous apprend le Musée Herman Ottó de Miskolc.

Le minéral, découvert par le géologue amateur Gàbor Koller il y a sept ans, a été nommé rudabanyaite d'après le nom du village, Rudabanya, où a été découvert le minéral. Ce petit village de 2 500 habitants était déjà "célèbre" pour la découverte d'un corps d'un hominidé datant de 12 millions d'années!

Béla Fehér, le chef de la collection de minéraux du musée, a déclaré ue sur les environ 5 000 minéraux connus à travers le monde, il n'y en a que neuf, y compris celui-ci qui ont été découvert sur le territoire actuel de la Hongrie.

Rudabanya, March 4 (MTI) – A new mineral, discovered by an amateur researcher in Rudabánya, in northeast Hungary, has been recognized as a new mineral species by the International Mineralogical Association (IMA), the Ottó Herman Museum of Miskolc told MTI on Saturday. The mineral, discovered by amateur geologist Gábor Koller seven years ago, has been named rudabanyaite. Béla Fehér, head of the museum’s mineral collection, said that out of the about 5,000 minerals known across the world, there are only nine minerals including this new one that was discovered on Hungary’s current territory. Whenever such a new discovery is made, experts examine the mineral’s chemical composition and its structure.
